Spatran™ SMTP-out - an intelligence outgoing mail server software
A milestone of more than 10 years of work
Our outgoing mail server software has evolved over the years ever since we started CustomerNews back in 2006.
The first version of smtp_out was actually written for Windows, and had a prefixed functionality that was quite limited, and through our experience with email marketing we gradually added more and more features to make the program more appropriate for dealing the changes and demands in the complex world of email marketing.
Over the years we have rebuilt the entire software from scratch three times, making the current version the most advanced form of outgoing email server software there probably is on the market, and something that we are very proud of, and what gives us an edge over many other companies in terms of email deliverability. Our current version can currently runs under Linux/Unix systems, but can also be ported to Windows.
So what it is, and what's so special about it?
In its core, the Spartan™ SMTP-out outgoing mail server is a lightweight SMTP server software that's designed for sending email campaigns.
It contains a built-in Virtual Machine using language interpreter for email sending scripts, working mostly with standard sending scripts but allowing the adjustment of custom sending scripts possible.
The server can handle many multiple SMTP connections and sending scripts simultanously while making sure that no server is "overloaded" with connections. It does this by keeping track of which destination Mail Exchangers (or MXs) are currently connected and measuring them both on a domain based and IP based searched to make sure no server receives more than X connections (as many as allowed).
In addition to this, the server stores an internal state-list for all outgoing IP addresses and contains a smart machine-learning based algorithms that are written in the scripting language that allows the server to measure the reputation score of every outgoing IP and know how to detect problematic IPs and ignore them and keep them out of the sending process.
It does so by using a smart and efficient way to store the data in memory.
